Limited Dental Warranty

Financial Policy

We, at Alliance Family Dental, take pride in the quality of dentistry and service that we provide. The long-term success of the treatment we render depends greatly upon your adherence to a regimen of regular professional cleanings, examinations, and continuing home care of your teeth and gums. Our Fayetteville, NC dentist, Dr. Barber, tailors her recommendations to your specific needs and condition. Your return visits may vary from 3 to 6 months depending on the stability of your oral health. With that in mind, we offer the following limited warranty:

DENTAL SEALANTS: Sealants are plastic coatings placed on the chewing surfaces of the teeth to prevent decay on the surface and grooves of the teeth. These are the most common areas to develop cavities. Flossing, and the use of fluoride, will help prevent decay between the teeth. Alliance Family Dental will repair or replace sealants for a period of 3 years after placement. If decay is present on the chewing surface, the replacement filling will be done by Dr. Barber at no extra charge. You must keep the prescribed regular return appointments or this warranty is null and void (minimum every 6 months).

COMPOSITE (TOOTH-COLORED) OR AMALGAM (SILVER-COLORED) FILLINGS: If a composite or amalgam restoration is the recommended treatment of choice, Alliance Family Dental will replace or repair it, for a period of 3 years, in the event of failure. If the tooth breaks and requires a crown or onlay, we will credit the cost of the filling towards the crown or onlay. You must keep the prescribed regular return appointments or this warranty is null and void (minimum every 6 months).

CROWNS, BRIDGES, ONLAYS, AND PORCELAIN RESTORATIONS: Alliance Family Dental will warranty these comprehensive procedures for a full 5 years. Our Fayetteville, NC dentist, Dr. Barber, will replace or repair them at no charge during this five year period if they break or are lost with normal use. (This does not include accidents that could also break normal, healthy teeth.) You must keep the prescribed regular return appointments (minimum every 6 months) or this warranty is null and void.

ROOT CANALS: Our Fayetteville, NC dentist performs root canal treatments by a 3 part procedure. First, the root canal space must be sealed. Second, the tooth will generally require a core build-up or post to support a crown. Finally, a crown should be placed within 6 months to 1 year. Although root canal treatment is about 96% successful, they do occasionally fail. If you complete the entire procedure and lose your tooth within 3 years due to failure of the root canal, Alliance Family Dental will apply your root canal fee towards a replacement tooth.

FULL AND PARTIAL DENTURES: Alliance Family Dental will warranty full dentures and partial dentures, for a period of 3 years, if a tooth or a flange “gum acrylic” chips or breaks under normal use. This warranty does not cover accidents such as breakage due to dropping your dentures. Patients with full upper and lower dentures must be seen once every 12 months. Patients with some of their own natural teeth must be seen at the prescribed return appointment or this warranty is null and void (minimum every 6 months).

As you can see, we at Alliance Family Dental in Fayetteville, NC are confident of the durability of our treatment as prescribed for you. The primary key to your long-term success is spending a few minutes a day on your home care, brushing, flossing, applying fluoride, and taking other prescribed actions. The second key to success is regular professional examinations, cleaning, X-ray films and fluoride treatments (3, 4, & 6 month intervals depending on your condition). This warranty does not cover accidents that may damage teeth or dental prosthesis. In addition, because we cannot predict when gum or nerve treatments may be required on a covered tooth, those procedures will require additional fees.

Caring for your dental health is a team effort between you, the patient, and your dental care providers. Unfortunately, Dr. Barber cannot guarantee her work without your compliance to her instructions. Please make sure you understand that the following circumstances will render her warranty null and void:

  • Failure to follow your prescribed continuing care visits (3, 4 or 6 months) for a professional exam, x-rays, and cleaning.
  • Failure to keep account in good standing.
  • Failures or damage to restorations caused by traumatic injuries, chewing ice or non-food items, or improper hygiene.
  • Failure to complete necessary gum or nerve treatments as prescribed to prevent gum and tooth decay.
  • Failure to continue regular visits with our office voids all warranties.
